How Do I Get Started?
Anyone can search and look at all the questions that have been asked already. And anyone can leave an answer to a question or rate an answer that has already been given. But to ask your own question, first you will need to register. It only takes 1 minute and don’t worry, your info is safe with us and we won’t ever spam you.
How To Ask Questions?
Click the big blue Submit a Question button. Then, simply create a title, add some tags, and choose a category! Every time someone submits an answer to your question, you’ll get an email. To get answers more quickly, make sure you use the share buttons below your question to share them on Facebook or other networks.
How To Answer Questions?
Click on a question to view it in full (some questions may have additional content) and leave your answer. If you submit an answer and doesn’t show up, don’t panic! It probably got flagged as potential spam. If you added more than five (5) links to the answer there is a chance it’s been sent to us for review. We review comments all the time, and if we see something stuck in a spam filter that shouldn’t be, we will approve it so it shows up. Check back within 24 hours and if you still don’t see it, submit a support ticket here.
How To Comment on Answers?
You can reply to answers to your question or others’ questions and share feedback with them on their response. Maybe you want to let them know you agree with them, have a differing opinion, or you have a follow-up question for them. Whatever it may be, just click the Reply button on their answer and type away!
How To Rate An Answers Helpfullness?
Anyone can give an answer a “+” or “-” rating depending upon whether they think the answer is helpful or not. Please be thoughtful when you rate answers, as people do put time and thought into their answers. If your answer earns a negative rating, don’t dismay! It doesn’t mean it was wrong; it just means that it may not have been helpful to that particular user. You can always reply to your answer with a clarification, if needed!
How To Select A 'Best Answer'?
Marking an answer as the “best” answer will highlight it and reward the person whose answer it was with a star. Selecting the “best” answer to your question is a subjective process. It could be that you think the answer you chose as “best” is the most creative, most relevant to your life, or just plain genius! Deciding what criteria make an answer the “best” answer is totally up to you.
How To Earn Stars?
You can earn stars for answering questions, so get your thinking cap on. Every time one of your answers is marked as the “best” answer by the person who asked the question, you earn a star! One or more “best” answer: 1 star Five or more “best” answers: 2 stars Ten or more “best” answers: 3 stars Twenty or more “best” answers: 4 stars
Top Tip #1 - Share Great Questions!
Spread the word when you think there is a question worth passing along. You can share great questions on sites like Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, LinkedIn, Delicious, Stumble Upon, Digg and Reddit.
Top Tip #2 - Invite Your Friends!
We want The Forum to be as useful of a resource for you as possible. Help us grow the community by inviting your friends… the more people we have asking and answering questions, the better the resource will become!
Top Tip #3 - Add Pictures or Videos To Your Question!
You can add pictures or video to your questions in one of two ways. To add images, just wrap the URL of the image you want to upload with
img src tags. How do you find the image URL? Just right click on any image and select “copy image URL/address”. So the final thing should look like this: <img src=”YOUR IMAGE URL HERE”>
To add a video from YouTube, just click “Embed” on any video, make the custom width 500 (and let it set the height), then copy the iframe code.
Top Tip #4 - View All Questions By A Specific Person!
It’s easy! Just click their name to the right of any question they have asked – or just below. This will let you see all the questions they have asked.
Warning - What Not To Post On The Forum!
Any spam, derogatory or inappropriate questions or answers will be removed by our moderators.
Info - How does The Forum moderate the Q&A's?
Our policy is to only remove posts that violate our posting policies (see the section above). SkaterGirl International doesn’t vote on user questions or answers, so you can be confident that any ratings, “best” answer awards, etc., are determined 100% by the community. The only time SkaterGirl will rate or choose “best” answers is when we ask a question directly.
