What do you think about this?
Today was received a message to the inbox of SkaterGirl International’s tumblr from a cool girl called Ellie , saying this:
“I love skatergirlinternational and I really wish you guys had you’re own magazine! I would be a subscriber for sure 
. Keep doing what you’re doing! xxx”
So.. What do you think about it? Don’t you think it could be a great idea?
Great idea!
But skateboarding only!
It’s not that I don’t like surfing and snowboarding – I do – its just that it’s better to be specific to one sport!
You don’t go to a shop and buy a skateboard that is also a surfboard that is also a snowboard, so why would you with a magazine?
Focus on one and make it great – rather than many and them just being ok.

LikeDislike@tantantanila – there are quite a few mags out there that cover multiple sports or multiple interests for girls and women – and the reason they do this is because they get a bigger readership pool – because it’s easier to write – and because ultimately its easier to get advertising money. i’m with you though – just focussing on one is better – just thought i’d say why other mags do it.

LikeDislikeIn my opinion isn’t a bad idea to have a section for other sports. Of course, skate and longboarding would be the main theme, but it would be great if there’s a small section dedicated to other sports like surfing or snowboarding. It would be a complement.
And perhaps it would serve as inspiration to other girls to learn and try something different.
What do you think from this point of view?

LikeDislikeThe magazine idea is something we’ll be looking into more after the Summer.
The focus would definitely be womens skateboarding – but i suspect we’d have smaller sections for other sports.
We would want to cover the skateboarding in all countries – so we will therefore make the magazine available in all countries too. Purchases would most likely be done online – with prices specific to each country.
Authors will be from a range of countries – with editing and design done by the main team.
We’re also thinking of including a DVD on the cover with each edition.
If anyone has anymore ideas or suggestions, we’d love to hear them.
