Seriously… Just skate. Practice, find some friends to skate with. Go to parks and make friends with people who have been skating awhile. You tend to learn faster when you have someone who can watch you and tell you what you are doing wrong. If you are to shy for that, then tape yourself and watch a lot of how to youtube videos to compare yourself to.

LikeDislike@Ezelle – hey, don’t be too hard on yourself! the fact you can ollie within 3 days is amazing. it can be tough when you start out – especially if you’re not lucky enough to have some other people (girls or boys) to learn to skate with. 99% of skateboarding is determination though, so just keep going and it will get easier!
There’s always events you can get to though that can help you learn – skate lessons and workshops for girls exist in almost every country now – just do a search on SkaterGirl or GRO or Asiplanchaba or Side Project. they’re often tied in with other comps.
Also there are skate camps you can go to, like Woodward in the U.S. or the upcoming European Girls Skate Camp… http://www.skatergirlinternational.com/?p=10848

LikeDislikeI think the biggest thing about being a beginning skater is to accept that you’re new to skating. I got a board a month ago and it took me two weeks to get on the damn thing because I kept thinking I had nowhere to skate, or I’d make a fool of myself, or this, or that, etc, etc. It finally hit me though that if I didn’t just suck it up and start skating I never would so I started taking it to work. First day sucked, second day I was feeling pretty good about myself, by the third day I was in love. I actually had to put my board down this last week cause I did something to my ankle. Point being though.. Just start boarding and know that you are the greatest thing on the planet for skating in general and anything anyone says to you after that, hey, they’re not worth a negative thought
