We’ve recently come across a great website called ACM Writing that we are now reading religiously that examines the action sports industry. It looks at everything from copycat videos – where filmers all start using the same style, competition between the action sports – if snowboarding grows, does skateboarding shrink, should our ‘extreme’ sports be in the Olympics, can our action sports have too many competitions etc.
Most recently they’ve written a piece about something that we’ve covered before here on SkaterGirl: are some companies taking advantage of the action sports image just to sell product, when they dont invest any time, effort or money into the scene or riders? The answer is of course yes – but this latest article called What’s On The Horizon For Action Sports? looks at in a fresh and insightful light. Well worth a read.
